According to Schwarzenegger, the project has been pending for a decade. The actor informed me that Fredrik Malmberg owns the rights to the franchise. During an interview, the actor said,
“It’s been pending for the last 10 years. Fredrik Malmberg owns the rights. He comes to me and says, ‘Oh, I have a deal with Netflix,’ and when we ask Netflix, they don’t know anything about it.”
The 1982 classic film was remade in 2011, and it featured Jason Momoa in the lead role.
