Actor Rami Malek is one of the rising stars in Hollywood. He gained international fame with his appearance in the TV showMr. Robotand for playing Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in the biopicBohemian Rhapsody.The latter also won him the Best Actor Academy Award.
Since his rise to fame, Malek, like any other celebrity of his stature, increasingly came under the public eye. Combining his Oscar with him being the Bond villain in Daniel Craig’sNo Time To Die, Malek’s fashion choices were subject to satire by many fashion magazines. TheAmsterdamstar however had a savage reply for the trolls.

Rami Malek’s Rise To Stardom
Before his breakthrough with the role of a troubled hacker inMr. Robot,Rami Malekwas a relatively unknown actor, mostly seen in small and supporting roles. The actor was the son of Egyptian immigrants and mentioned that he made an attempt to refuse typecast roles based on his ethnicity.
While he had appeared in supporting roles or guest roles in TV shows, he made his film debut in Ben Stiller’sNight at the Museum. He played the role of a Pharaoh Akmenrah. Malek reprised the role in subsequent sequels and was also cast as a suicide bomber in the series24.
Talking toVogue, he talked about the changing landscape for more opportunities for actors of Arab descent, he said,
“In an industry where you feel lucky just being seen, it is hard to take that first step in setting boundaries, but it is a vital decision, and you will not regret it because your life and dignity are more than this job. And of course, then it changes, or creates the possibility for change for the next person who comes along after you.”

Rami Malek got his breakthrough when he was cast in the techno-thrillerMr. Robot.The show ran for four seasons and Malek won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series as well as a Critic’s Choice Television Award. He was nominated for a Golden Globe twice for the series.
Malek’s crowning jewel is his Oscar-winning performance as rockstar Freddie Mercury in the biopicBohemian Rhapsody. The actor was universally acclaimed for his performance and was awarded a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, an Academy Award, and an SGA Award for Best Actor. The film earned $910 million at the global box office.

Rami Malek’s Savage Response To Fashion Trolls
Actor Rami Malek has since been in the public eye since his rise to stardom and has also been subject to a few trolls. Especially when it came to his fashion choices,Esquiremagazine once wrote a satirical article about the actor’s black leather suit which he wore for St. Laurent’s SS20 Show in 2019.
The article called him the ‘lord of darkness’ for his gothic-inspired suit and went on to say,
“The Dark Age cometh…Or at least it was at Saint Laurent’s SS20 show: a high-performance, well-lit spectacle that turned Paris’ Trocadéro into an exquisite members’ lounge in the Fifth Circle of Hell. And its new crown prince? Rami Malek, the royal arbiter of monochrome, patron saint of party suits, overseer of leather and very, very sexy menswear.”
The article was shown to Rami Malek in an appearance on Stephen Colbert’s talk show and when asked about his opinion on the headline of the article, which said, ‘All Hail Rami Malek, Overlord Of Darkness’, Malek responded with a smug face,
“I just saw this…You wear leather pants and suddenly, you are Satan.”
The article, however, goes on to appreciate Rami Malek for his choice and even says that he pulls off the look.
