At the current stage in Hollywood, Robert Pattinson is a big name. Many might know him for his role as Cedric Diggory in theHarry Potterfranchise but most know him for his work as Edward Cullen in theTwilightfranchise. Although it took the actor a long time to shake that reputation off, the end result was amazing as he is now not only working with Christopher Nolan, but he is also Batman.

The fame that the actor holds now came from the role that he came to despise. Despite his hatred for the franchise, he could deny just how big of an impact it had on his career. However, there was a decent possibility for him to not get the chance at all as he was almost fired.

Robert Pattinson Manifested His Inner Emo
Robert Pattinsonread how Edward Cullen seemed to be in theTwilightbooks. Written by Stephanie Meyer, the series sees Edward as a broody character who can easily be described as the ideal Byronic hero. However, it was not what the director wanted. The actor never tried to hide just how bad his relationship with the character was and the lack of resonance that the two had.
“I remember that day when my agent, my manager, came up as a surprise visit. I just thought everything was fine, and then at lunch, they were like, ‘Okay, whatever you are doing right now, after lunch, just do the opposite. Or you will be fired by the end of the day.’”

He had been trying his best to act in the first installment of the franchise but it seemed heavily over the top. His acting had been too much for them and he was almost fired. Despite his being pleased with his work, the actor was warned by his manager that if he kept doing what he was doing, he would be fired immediately.

The Threat Made Robert Pattinson Happy
Robert Pattinson was pleased with the response he had gotten from the people on set. His vision was not one that was understood at that time and so he had to tone his acting down throughout the course of the franchise. However, little did he know, Pattinson manifested his emo character.
“You know I was 21, and I wanted to make it as arty as possible. So we had this strange tension where the studio was a little bit scared to make things a little bit too emo and stuff. I thought that was the only way to play it. It just seems so ridiculous talking about it now, because I was literally in…I spent so much time just infuriated by the whole thing…it’s definitely something with being 21 as well. I can’t believe the way I was acting half of the time.”

Robert Pattinson portrayed Bruce Wayne and Batman in Matt Reeve’sThe Batman. The film got massive recognition. One aspect that stood out in the movie was Pattinson’s acting and how well he understood his role. The darkness within Bruce Wayne was evident with his talent and perhaps he has Edward Cullen to thank for that.
